Leigh Sandy graduated from Virginia Tech in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Air Force and received his Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1993.
Leigh Sandy co-founded Donet (now called DataYard) in 1995 as a full service ISP providing Internet access to homes and businesses in and around the Dayton, Ohio region. During his almost 20 years there, Leigh built the best connected network in Dayton based on high end Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls providing some of the most reliable connections in the region. Leigh also built a CLEC subsidiary using Adtran carrier equipment and co-locating in five AT&T central offices. Leigh worked with AT&T and the City of Dayton to construct and operate several fiber paths in the downtown area.
Leigh lives in the Dayton, Ohio region with his wife, Donna.
